At last the time has come!

We are delighted to be organising the world’s first Bach Guitar Competition this year, which will focus on the works of Johann Sebastian Bach. This ambitious project can take place after many years of preparation, not least because of the many generous supporters who have been inspired by this idea. The seriousness and importance of this new competition evidenced by an international jury of exceptional artists.

• Admitted for all guitarists born after 1 January 1988 from all nations of the world with permanent residence in Europe
• Participation fee: 120.- EURO
• Registration deadline: 31 March 2022
• Four competition rounds:
  1. until   1 May 2022: Video round 1, three compulsory pieces by Joh. Seb. Bach
  2. until 15 July 2022: Video round 2, program with main part Bach, total 15-20 min.
  3. 22 Oct. 2022: Semifinal, public event, program with main part Bach, total 25-30 min.
  4. 23 Oct. 2022: Final, public event, program with main part Bach, total 40-45 min.
• Works from the video rounds may be performed again in the semifinals/finals.
• 6 prize winners will be chosen
• Total prizes 18,700 EURO (staggered in 6 prizes + audience prize)
• 7 concerts + CD production (free Bach program) with NAXOS
